WCO holds a Rights Holders Consultative Group meeting
On June 16, the WCO hosted a Rights Holders Consultative Group meeting in the WCO headquarters in Brussels. Around 60 participants attended the meeting, representing all industry sectors.
Collaboration with the private sector is high on the list of priorities for the WCO, especially with regards to IPR and health and safety issues. By organizing this meeting, the WCO aimed to offer our industry partners a platform to exchange and discuss with the Secretariat and with selected Customs administrations, how to increase this crucial collaboration. This meeting was also an opportunity to present the latest developments in our anti-counterfeiting tool, IPM, and to collect constructive feedback from all participants in order to support the WCO in its efforts to further improve the tool.
The WCO believes that this exercise will allow us to better understand Customs' and industry's needs and to take their ideas and recommendations into consideration for our future endeavors in our IPR, Health and Safety Programme, and more specifically IPM.
Conclusions for this meeting are available upon request.
